62nd Reunion of the class of 1950 ~

The 62nd class reunion on Friday, the 25th of August, 2012, came off without a hitch and about 32 people attended. Everyone enjoyed the Taco Man for the picnic in Jan & Joe Balsley's lovely backyard. This Taco group even made the tortillas while everyone looked on. So many wanted to steal Joe's huge and beautiful Ficus tree that it is surprising that it remains in its regular place.

I think the classmate that drove the most miles to get there was Marian Weller Boandl and her husband, Joe, from Albuquerque, NM. Another one was David Smiley and his wife, Joyce, from Marysville, (near Seattle) WA. Neither one had been at a reunion for a long time so it was great for everyone to see them.

One of the funniest things I have heard is that some of the guys asked Joe why their pictures were NOT  in the class reunion booklet. After he quit laughing Joe said "you don't want to have your picture in the book - those are all the memorial pages."  You have to remember - this is the 62nd reunion - enough said?

On Saturday, the 26th of August - most of the group met at the San Diego wharf to board the Harbor Brunch Cruise. Talk about a wonderful brunch! Everything from crab legs to your favorite style of crepes or eggs. Joe told me it was written up not long ago as one of the very best brunches in California. It is wonderful! The sun was out the whole time and the cruise went toward the  Coronado island. Beautiful weather, wonderful visiting  and fabulous sights.

I am still waiting for more pictures so will upload them as soon as I receive them. All I can say is it is a good thing that everyone's name tag is their Senior Class picture.
Go Mustangs!
